Passport to Your National Parks.

My friend Megan told me about this. And apparently it’s been around for a long time. It’s set up like a passport book. The idea is to go around to all the National Park places and collect cancellations from each place. The cancellation has the park name and date that you visited. And this includes National Monuments, National Historical Sites, etc. Some of the parks also have a stamp to collect for the region.

I like the map of the US that is included. It has all the locations on it, so you could use it to plan a trip. And you can pick one of these up at most National Parks participating. If you don’t have one near you, you can go to the Great Smoky Mountains Association to purchase online.

I had never heard of this until a month ago. It’s a shame that this Passport is not promoted more. I mean, if you happen to be traveling, what a neat thing to do along the way. And there are so many National Park places, many people wouldn’t have to travel too far to participate.

Hope someone enjoys this.

  1. Hi, Marla! We have a Passport like that. We live in our RV and travel to a couple or three different areas a year, and we have a lot of National Park stamps in our book. You’re right, it should be promoted more.
